'Hope you got that on camera': Postmaster general 'covers his ears' as GOP rep issues scathing rebuke

Rep. Rick McCormick (R-GA) slammed Postmaster General Louis DeJoy during a postal service oversight hearing Tuesday, after DeJoy gave himself a grade A rating for his performance as postmaster general.
In a video clip posted to X by The Recount, McCormick says to DeJoy, "You, sir, do not get a grade A. You cannot give yourself that grade."
He replied, "I just did."

The Georgia lawmaker shot back, "You can't. You can't trade your own paper, sir. I've been to medical school, I've got my MBA. I'm sorry. You are graded by the United States people, and they don't use your service anymore. You bankrupt. You bankrupt through your reputation only. Through your reputation, you are responsible for the fall of the postal service."
"No, Congress is responsible," DeJoy replied. "I am trying to fix the postal service."
McCormick added, "With all the AI, with all the computer systems, you're worse than if I took a horse and picked up the mail and delivered it two miles down the road."
"You're talking to yourself," DeJoy said, before covering his ears with both hands.

"I hope you got that on camera," McCormick said. "This is the response the postmaster just gave Congress when he doesn't like what he hears — literally covers his ears, and gave himself the grade of A."
