Although it has "no shot at becoming law," according to Politico, House Republicans proposed Tuesday to cut down United States Department of Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg's salary down to $1.

Because Democrats control the Senate, the bill "stands no chance at approval," the report notes.

Led by U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), Politico notes "the cut for Buttigieg was adopted by voice vote as an amendment to the fiscal 2024 Transportation-HUD spending bill."

POLL: Should Trump be allowed to hold office again?

Per the report, this is the Republican "conference's latest move as conservatives have explored using obscure funding rules to exact political pain" on President Joe Biden's administration.

Greene also "proposed reducing Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Commissioner Daniel Werfel's salary to $1 Tuesday, while U.S. Rep. Mike Collins, who is also a Georgia Republican, "proposed an amendment 'that would halt any funding for Vice President Kamala Harris' office.'"

Politico's full report is here.
