During a congressional hearing on January 10, Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Maryland) and Rep. Byron Donalds (R-Florida) got into a heated debate about former President Donald Trump and the U.S. Constitution's emoluments clause.

Under the emoluments clause, federal government officials are prohibited from receiving gifts from foreign governments without the permission of Congress.

When Raskin discussed foreign business at Trump's hotels, Donalds remarked, "Have you ever stayed at a Trump hotel, Mr. Raskin?" And Raskin's response was both biting and humorous.

POLL: Should Trump be allowed to hold office again?

Raskin told the Florida congressman, "No, and I would never would stay at a Trump hotel. I've got too much self-respect and concern for hygiene."
