Attorney General Pam Bondi’s count on the number of lives President Donald Trunmp has saved from fentanyl overdoses is growing at an exponential pace, reports the Intelligencer.

Trump held a rare, televised cabinet meeting on Wednesday to commemorate his first 100 days in office. NBC reporter Garrett Haake described the meetings as “two hours of cabinet secretaries falling over each other to praise” president, but Bondi had big praise of her own, and it only got bigger over the course of 24 hours.

Bondi claims Trump saved the lives of around “two out of every three Americans,” citing cited recent fentanyl seizures as the reason for this “supposedly momentous accomplishment.”

“Are you ready for this, media? Two hundred and fifty-eight million lives,” Bondi told the cameras on April 30. “Kids are dying every day because they’re taking this junk laced with … fentanyl and they’re dropping dead. But no longer because of what you (Trump) have done.”

For the record, Census figures report the U.S. population to be only 340 million.

Still, Bondi’s numbers are a big step up from figures she cited just 24 hours earlier when she posted on April 29 that the Trump administration had saved “over 119 million lives.”

“Today is Fentanyl Awareness day. In President Trump’s first 100 days, we’ve seized over 22 million fentanyl laced pills, saving over 119 million lives,” Bondi said on X. “We are fighting relentlessly for the families of loved ones lost, for those whose lives are at risk, and for the soul of our nation. We will not rest until this poison is off our streets and those peddling it are behind bars.”
