NY prosecutors to 'rest their case' against Trump this week: report

Former President Donald Trump's New York civil fraud trial, which began October 2, could conclude as soon as next month.
The $250 million case filed by Attorney General Letitia James, in which presiding Judge Arthur Engoron found Trump and co-defendants liable for fraud last month, has been called a "witch hunt" by the ex-president as he continues to pursue a second presidential term in 2024.
MSNBC legal analyst Lisa Rubin on Monday wrote via X (formerly Twitter), "NEW: The New York attorney general will rest their case on Wednesday after Ivanka's testimony. The defense will then examine Ivanka themselves (to economize on her time and travel), and after making a number of motions, they project they will start their case in chief Monday & finish by 12/15."
POLL: Should Trump be allowed to hold office again?
Ivanka unsuccessfully asked the court to pause her testimony last week after claiming she would "suffer undue hardship" if she is "required to testify at trial in New York in the middle of a school week," according to her attorney.
Trump became combative with both Engoron and James during his testimony Monday, causing the judge to ask the ex-president's attorneys, "Can you control your client?"
