GOP senator urges party pick 'someone who can actually win' after Trump's GA indictment

U.S. Sen. Todd Young (R-IN) on Tuesday urged the Republican Party to find “someone who can actually win” after former President Donald Trump on Monday was
indicted in his fourth criminal case, The Star Press reports.
Young said the latest indictment is “
more of the same” after Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis charged Trump and 18 of his allies in a sweeping Georgia RICO case that accused the former president of running a “criminal enterprise” to remain in power.
The Star Press reports:
Young said that his party needs to find another person to represent the GOP in the next presidential election.
"Someone who can actually win come next November (2024)," he said.

In May, Young told CNN’s Manu Raja he would not support Trump as the Republican nominee for president in 2024.
“I don't intend to support him for the Republican nomination,” Young said.
Asked by Raja why he won’t support the Republican front runner, Young quipped, “Where do I begin?”
As The Star Press reports, 2024 Indiana gubernatorial candidate Sen. Mike Braun (R-IN) is taking a different approach to Trump’s four criminal indictments, claiming the latest is an example of President Joe Biden’s “weaponization of the justice system."

“Another week, another attempt by President Biden and his party’s prosecutors to put their leading political rival behind bars and interfere with the 2024 presidential election,” Braun said. "President Biden’s weaponization of the justice system will cause irreversible damage to our nation and divide us further.”
