President Donald Trump exploded over a new Fox News poll showing him upside down on approval. The poll — likely to connect with Fox-viewing Trump — reported 46 percent overall approval for his job performance as president and 54 percent disapproving.

Trump blasted the survey on Truth Social: “They are always wrong and negative. It’s why MAGA HATES FoxNews … . This has gone on for years, but they never change the incompetent polling company that does their work.”

He was particularly angry at the polling of Trump’s effort to crack down on “immigration,” where Trump traditionally polled high among his supporters.

“Now a new FoxNews poll comes out this morning giving me a little more than 50% at the Border, and yet the Border is miraculously perfect, NOBODY WAS ABLE TO COME IN LAST MONTH,” Trump raged. “… I hate FAKE pollsters, one of the Worst, but Fox will never change their discredited pollster!

Podcaster Greg Sargent pointed out White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt “rushed to soothe” the president at a press conference with “a ridiculous, gushing tirade designed to create the grotesquely false impression that he has the support of a very large majority of Americans.”

“The last time I checked [Rep.] Jasmine Crockett [D-Texas] couldn’t dream of winning such a majority of the public as president Trump did,” Leavitt said, responding to Crockett’s recent criticism, before going on to portray a large ‘movement’ of Trump supporters ‘filled with hardworking patriots, forgotten men and women, business owners, law enforcement officers, nurses, teachers and middle America.”

Sargent’s guest, former U.S. attorney and podcaster Harry Litman, slammed Leavitt’s suggestion that Trump represents all Americans, considering Trump’s “deploy of executive power” to “attack, intimidate, insult” the other political party since the Civil War.

“His only government strategy … is to use his power to trash, humiliate and dominate … Democratic politicians across the country,” Litman said. “People are being arrested. He’s bringing in troops against the will of governors. … and the administration is focused on Democrats and cities that are Democratic strongholds, as a whole.”

Litman also pointed out that Trump refused to call Minnesota Gov. Mike Walz after a right-wing assassin fatally shot a Minnesota lawmaker and her spouse, and others, and described Trump as a ‘one-trick pony’ who attacks blue America when he begins to look like a failure.

“I can’t think of a president who’s been so blatantly ‘Yay for our team, boo for your team,’” Litman said.
