Nancy Pelosi 'using her drone' as Adam Schiff calls for Biden to step down: Hill staffer
While most top Democratic leaders have declined to call on President Joe Biden to step aside in his bid for reelection following his poor debate performance last month, one top Democrat — US Rep. Adam Schiff (CA) — on Wednesday called on the president to make way for another nominee.
Expressing that he has "serious concerns" about whether Biden is capable of beating Trump in November, CNBC reports Schiff said in a statement, "While the choice to withdraw from the campaign is President Biden’s alone, I believe it is time for him to pass the torch."
Schiff, who's currently vying for a US Senate seat in California added, "And in doing so, secure his legacy of leadership by allowing us to defeat Donald Trump in the upcoming election."

Following the Senate hopeful's statement, Puck News senior political correspondent Tara Palmeri reported via X: "'That's Nancy using her drone, it’s the SAME as Obama using Clooney,' a top Hill aide told me."
Politico reported last week that before actor and Democratic donor George Clooney wrote a now published New York Times op-ed calling on the president to step down as the party's choice, the Hollywood star allegedly "reached out to former President Barack Obama to give him a heads-up."
Politico reports, "While Obama did not encourage or advise Clooney to say what he said, he also didn’t object to it," according to sources familiar with the pair's conversation.
Now, some believe former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) is working behind the scenes to remove Biden through her California colleague — Schiff.

USA Today Washington bureau chief Susan Page wrote via X: "There are those who hear Nancy Pelosi's voice in Adam Schiff's words."
In a report published Tuesday, July 16, Politico noted that "many of" Pelosi's "colleagues see her as a last hope of a kind — believing that Pelosi, having stepped down from leadership herself to make way for generational change, may be the best possible messenger to break through with Biden."
One House Democrat told the news outlet, "She’s the political voice of the Democratic caucus right now."
