'Wow!' Fox News host shocked as Trump repeats debunked stolen election claim

On Wednesday night, March 19, Fox News aired host Laura Ingraham's interview with President Donald Trump.
The far-right Ingraham is a vigorous defender of Trump's second presidency, but during the interview, Ingraham rolled her eyes when Trump repeated the debunked conspiracy theory that he won the United States' 2020 presidential election.
Ingraham discussed Trump's return to the White House after a four-year absence, asking him, "So you thought there's no doubt…. You're coming back into office when you walked out of here?"

Trump responded, "Well, I felt that, but I didn't know…. Let me say it: I didn't know if I was going to run, because I knew how much I won that election by. But if I thought I didn't win the election, I absolutely wouldn't have run."
When Trump made that comment, Ingraham said, "Wow," looked away from him and rolled her eyes.
After losing both the popular vote and the electoral vote to Democrat Joe Biden in 2020, Trump falsely claimed that the election was stolen from him — a claim that was repeatedly debunked. Numerous vote recounts confirmed that Biden legitimately won the election.
In 2024, however, Trump defeated Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris by roughly 1.5 percent in the national popular vote and picked up 312 electoral votes.

As Ingraham's interview with Trump continued, she discussed the legal problems he battled in 2024 — implying that they were politically motivated.
Trump told Ingraham, "They hated me. But they — you have to get on with your life." And the Fox News host responded, "They would be on to the next target."
