Trump aides suggest Warner Bros. give Don Jr. a hunting show to improve White House ties

A company representative for American film and entertainment studio Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc. reportedly reached out to President Donald Trump's team, asking them how the company could improve its relationship with the new administration and "advantageously interact with the White House."
According to a report published by Intelligencer Monday, the Trump aides they reached out to told them to "look at the example of Amazon and Jeff Bezos paying Melania Trump $40 million to participate in a documentary about herself."
They were also told that the president's son, Donald Trump Jr. "might like a hunting and fishing show on the Discovery Channel," per the report. Another suggestion was to have more "pro-Trump voices" on CNN.

According to reports from earlier this year, Amazon agreed to pay a whopping $40 million to license a documentary about Melania Trump, to stream on Prime Video. The documentary, set to release later this year, offers "a behind-the-scenes look at her experiences."
The Intelligencer piece further said that David Zaslav, the CEO of Warner Bros., leads a media business that "faces the wrath and retribution of Donald Trump for its news division’s slights against him — in WBD’s case, CNN."
"Zaslav, who was notably photographed at the U.S. Open in September with Elon Musk, does not, to say the least, seem like a man for a moment that may require a face-off with this president," the article read.
"Zaslav’s neutral, largely meaningless comments about CNN — 'The most important thing to me … the metric that is most important to me … is how trusted is a brand is CNN … We believe in journalism … Journalism is fighting for the best version of the truth, as Carl Bernstein would say,' invoking Christiane Amanpour and the tanks rolling into Moscow in 1991 — may seem to indicate that he is rightly not looking forward to that moment’s coming. Which it will," the report added.

Following Trump's victory in the 2024 election last year, the proprietors of Meta, The Washington Post, and the LA Times began to adjust their news and content to be more favorable towards him.
The president is known for his sharp criticism of the media which he accuses of reporting "fake news," an allegation he has long leveled against networks and reporters he considers "biased."
