GOP claims 'mountains of evidence' against President Biden — witnesses say there is none
House Republicans' first hearing in an impeachment inquiry against President Joe Biden "got off to a rocky start" on Thursday, September 28, according to the Daily Beast's Josh Fiallo, due to George Washington University law professor Jonathan Turley's testimony.
During the hearing, CNN Capitol Hill reporter Melanie Zanona noted via X (formerly Twitter): "NEW: Frustration in the GOP over 1st impeachment hearing, as the GOP witnesses undercut their narrative & say no evidence of crimes. 'Picking witnesses that refute House Republicans arguments for impeachment is mind blowing. This is an unmitigated disaster,' said senior R aide."
She added, "And GOP lawmaker also expressed some disappointment with their performance thus far, telling @AnnieGrayerCNN: 'I wish we had more outbursts.'"
