Mehdi Hasan asks why this group isn’t 'demanding McConnell step down from the Senate'

Ex-Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell suffered minor injuries following a fall after a GOP lunch meeting Tuesday, and was quickly "cleared to resume his schedule," according to The Hill.
Per the report, the Kentucky lawmaker "was later seen at the Capitol with a brace on one wrist and a bandage on his face."
Former MSNBC host Mehdi Hasan responded to the news via X, writing: "How are the same people who were screaming for Joe Biden to step aside not also demanding McConnell step down from the Senate?"

Several Republican leaders, such as Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) called on the president to step down after he chose Vice President Kamala Harris to replace him as the 2024 Democratic nominee.
"If Joe Biden is not fit to run for President, he is not fit to serve as President. He must resign the office immediately. November 5 cannot arrive soon enough," Johnson said, according to Axios.
Although McConnell stepped down from his role as leader month, the 82-year-old Kentucky lawmaker remains in the Senate.
