Trump warned he’s got a 'hell of a math problem' despite latest primary win

Earlier this week, The Guardian's Alice Herman reported that although Donald Trump secured the Michigan Republican primary win, there are some "warning signs" for the ex-president amid the "easy victory."
Herman notes Trump "has repeatedly trounced [former South Carolina Governor Nikki] Haley in the primaries, but she has hung on with a campaign that continues to highlight areas of weakness for Trump and offers Republicans uneasy about Trump a protest vote of their own," and that "Haley has pledged to stay in the primaries at least through next Tuesday, 5 March, when 15 states will vote and Trump could all but sew up the Republican nomination."
During Sunday's episode of MSNBC's The Weekend, US Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) emphasized Herman's point, declaring the MAGA hopeful has one "hell of a math problem" following his latest primary win.

"I'm wondering your thoughts about the former governor of South Carolina being in this race, this argument that she is now making about Donald Trump," co-host Symone Sanders Townsend said to Swalwell. "She keeps towing up to the line but not going over it. I know Governor Newsom of California said Nikki Haley is one of the best surrogates for Democrats in the cycle. what do you think about that?"
The Democratic leader replied, "Well, I would rather it be us than Donald Trump right now. I'm hearing the concerns about uncommitted voters in Michigan. the president has work to do there, certainly. But when you look at Michigan, ten different counties voted for 30 percent or more for Nikki Haley. Across the board in the primaries, 30 percent of Republican voters say they are never going to vote for Donald Trump."
Swalwell emphasized, "That's a hell of a math problem for Donald Trump, especially when you look at back in 2020 it was only five percent of Republican voters who were saying hey were never going to vote for Donald Trump. So he's got a real math problem here. He's got a ceiling that keeps coming down every week when he shows us and reminds us as to who he is. And every day that Nikki Haley stays in this race, it shows Joe Biden who the voters are that are gettable for him in the campaign."
