Taylor Swift lawyer threatens lawsuit against student tracking flight info

Jack Sweeney is the University of Central Florida Student who was banned from X, formerly Twitter, in 2022 after sharing information on CEO Elon Musk's flying activities. Now, Sweeney is, according to the Washington Post, facing a potential lawsuit from another major celebrity: pop superstar Taylor Swift.
On social media, Sweeney tracks flight information of celebrities and their private jets. And the Post's Drew Harwell reports that Swift's attorney, Katie Wright Morrone, has sent the 21-year-old student a cease-and-desist order warning that Swift will "have no choice but to pursue any and all legal remedies" if Sweeney does not end his "stalking and harassing behavior."
Sweeney, according to Harwell, shared a copy of Morrone's letter with the Post.

In the letter, Morrone stressed that Swift was concerned about her "personal safety" and noted that the pop star has been a target of stalkers.
Morrone wrote, "While this may be a game to you, or an avenue that you hope will earn you wealth or fame, it is a life-or-death matter for our Client….. (There is) no legitimate interest in or public need for this information, other than to stalk, harass, and exert dominion and control."
Sweeney, Harwell reports, "told The Post he saw the letter as an attempt to scare him away from sharing public data. The accounts offer only an incomplete sketch of which cities Swift might currently be in, similar to the public schedules for her concerts or any NFL games she might attend, he said. And the letters, he added, were sent to him at a time when she faced criticism over her flights' environmental impact."
