'Nasty insults': Fox News host defends tough interview with Trump adviser after MAGA outrage

Democrats often criticize Fox News and its sister channel Fox Business for conducting softball interviews with President Donald Trump and his allies.
But when Fox News' Howie Kurtz recently interviewed Jason Miller, a Trump senior adviser, he asked some tough questions and grilled him aggressively about Trump's foreign policy. And some MAGA Republicans are furious with Kurtz.
Kurtz asked Miller about Trump's recent attack on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who he described as a "dictator." Trump blamed Zelensky for the Ukraine-Russia War but didn't criticize Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Kurtz noted that Trump is being "hammered" by some on the right, including the National Review, for his anti-Zelenskyy comments, asking Miller, "How can you defend that?" And Miller was evasive in his response, carefully avoiding criticism of Trump.
Kurtz told Miller, "Conservative Mark Levin, who is a Fox News host, says this is sick: Ukraine didn't start this war. What were they supposed to do, roll over and play dead? They're just trying to survive. So you very skillfully have not answered the direct question, which is: why is President Trump blaming Zelenskyy for the beginning of the war?"
It didn't take some MAGA Republicans long to start attacking Kurtz, who was accused of "bias." One of them argued that Kurtz belonged on MSNBC, not Fox News.
One X user tweeted, "Your show sucked dude, I had to turn it. I thought I was watching CNN or MSDNC, my god."

But Kurtz is standing by the interview with Miller, saying he's glad he asked the Trump senior adviser some tough questions.
In a February 23 post on X, formerly Twitter, Kurtz wrote, "The trolls are really out today with nasty insults. Jason Miller was fine with our interview. Trump is under fierce media criticism on a dozen fronts and that’s what we explored with a conservative and liberal panel."
