How to deal with your Trumper Uncle Bob

Here’s a holiday guide for dealing with the Trumper in your family, even over a Zoom call (with special guest, Sam Reich).
Meanwhile, have a lovely and restful Christmas and Hanukkah!
It’s a problem that comes up with increasing regularity in some families.
Some families with a Trumper make it a point never to talk politics with them. But this is becoming difficult, given we’re just weeks away from another — and even less restrained — Trump administration.
Others simply don’t invite the Trumper in their family to their holiday dinners. But this can be awkward, especially if several of your relatives are Trumpers or if the Trumper is long accustomed to coming to family dinner for the holiday.
Some people I know who have a Trumper in their family have stopped seeing or talking with them altogether — effectively pushing them out of the family. This may be necessary but it’s a drastic and, for some, sad remedy.
