House GOP marks 'third-lowest fundraising month' as infighting persists: report

House Republicans marked their "third-lowest fundraising month" Monday in a filing with the Federal Election Commission, Politico reports.
Per the report, the GOP's weeks-long fight over the House speakership "left Republicans without their chief fundraiser in the post," and the role "is critical in funneling cash to the conference."
Politico notes House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) is not nearly the "fundraising juggernaut" ousted Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) has proven to be over the years, though, soon after Johnson assumed leadership, the National Republican Congressional Committee reported "its strongest online fundraising of the cycle."

As House Republicans' infighting persists following the speaker debacle, the Monday filing confirmed the NRCC raked in "slightly over $5 million in October," which is only "about half" of what the committee pulled in 2019 and 2021.
According to the report, "Johnson has also begun building out his campaign finance infrastructure. He launched a joint fundraising committee on Monday that will be his chief fundraising vehicle. The committee, Grow the Majority, said it will fundraise on behalf of vulnerable incumbents; Republican challengers; the NRCC; the Congressional Leadership Fund, which Johnson has blessed as House Republicans' chief super PAC; and others."
