GOP candidate’s top campaign staffer resigns to work for Trump: report
Brian Swenson, who helped lead 2024 GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy's campaign as national political director, has resigned and joined former President Donald Trump's campaign, The Messenger exclusively reports.
Per The Messenger, Swenson will work with Trump campaign senior advisor Susie Wiles, who he formerly worked with on US Senator Rick Scott's (R-FL) 2010 gubernatorial campaign.
According to CNN, Swenson is the second aide to jump ship this month — an "indicator of Ramaswamy’s stagnating campaign, which has struggled to gain momentum even as the candidate closely aligns himself with" Trump.

Ramaswamy campaign spokesperson Tricia McLaughlin "wished him well in the future," CNN notes.
"We absolutely love Brian and completely wish him the best," she told the news outlet. "I think this is best for both campaigns."
The Messenger reports, "Swensen's departure has been amicable and his duties in New Hampshire will be absorbed by Ramaswamy senior advisor Mike Biundo" according to McLaughlin.
