DeSantis and Haley’s 'rationale' behind Trump promise proof they’re 'living in a fantasy world': conservative

GOP candidates, former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis both promised — if elected president — they will pardon former President Donald Trump, who has managed to maintain his spot as the leading Republican nominee despite four indictments.
The pair will face-off in CNN’s GOP presidential primary debate on January 10.
"Let's look at a poll out of Iowa," MSNBC's Alicia Menendez said during Tuesday's episode of Deadline: White House. "Donald Trump at 52%. Ron DeSantis at 18%. Nikki Haley at 16%," asking Bulwark writer Tim Miller, "Help me understand the calculous here."
POLL: Should Trump be allowed to hold office again?
Miller replied, "I have a political observation and then the merits of their comments. These people are living in a fantasy world. The whole rationale behind their argument for pardoning was Nikki Haley said we want to not have to think about this person anymore. And then Ron DeSantis said the country needs to move on. 'We need to move on from this person.' What world are they living in? Donald Trump is annihilating them in the primaries. The voters that they are trying to reach don't the to not think about Donald Trump. They don't want to move on from him. That maybe would be an appealing message, at least a defensible message, if it was Joe Biden and he was saying, 'Look, I need Donald Trump to accept accountability. I need there to be repercussions, but maybe it's the best thing for the country move on once there have been repercussions and accountability.' I would probably disagree with that, but I would at least be open to hearing that.
That's no what they are saying. What they're saying is, 'I want to live in a fantasy world where all my problems go away. And Donald Trump just disappears. And there's no accountability. There's no repercussions. And the party moves to me, and we all live happily ever after.' Well, I'm sorry. I don't know about you Alicia, but not everybody got a pony under the Christmas tree. You don't just get what you want. There has to be accountability for actions. these two candidates just don't seem to ready to live in the reality that is the Republican Party today."
