'Fake news': Mike Pence hits back at Charlie Kirk claim that the ex-VP was 'brutalized' in interview

Mike Pence is fighting back against a fellow conservative, and for once it's not his former boss.
Pence attended a Tucker Carlson event in Iowa on Friday, where he gave an interview during which Pence was forced to shut down Carlson as the former Fox host questioned Pence's Christian faith.
A clipped version of the video made the rounds online, and ultimately was shared by Charlie Kirk, founder of Turning Point USA.
"Tucker Carlson just brutalized Mike Pence for prioritizing Ukraine despite a litany of social ills afflicting America," Kirk wrote. He included the following transcript from the video clipping:
Tucker: "Where's the concern for the United States?"
Pence: "That's not my concern. Tucker I've heard this routine from you before. That's not my concern."
But Pence took offense, writing back, "That is what we used to call FAKE NEWS. Here’s the full clip of my remarks if you’re interested."
In the full clip, Pence is seen explaining that anyone who doesn't believe we can be the leader of the free world and solve our problems at home has a "small view" of the U.S.
