These 2020 fake electors still hold 'powerful roles' in their states: report

In states ranging from Michigan to Nevada, MAGA Republicans have been facing criminal indictments and prosecutions — or at least investigations — for their roles in the fake electors scheme of late 2020 and early 2021. Democratic Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel has been quite vocal about her desire to see those who circulated fake Electoral College certificates face accountability.
But according to Associated Press reporter Gabe Stern, some of the fake electors who tried to overturn the 2020 election results continue to hold positions in their party. Some have faced indictments; others haven't.
In Nevada, one of them in is Jim Hindle, who was indicted by Nevada Attorney General Aaron Ford. Meanwhile, in Wisconsin, Bob Spindell (who hasn't been charged with anything) remains on the state's election commission despite having been a fake elector.

"In Arizona," Stern reports, "fake electors Jake Hoffman and Anthony Kern are Republican legislators with powerful roles. Hoffman is chairman of the Senate Elections Committee, and Kern leads the Judiciary Committee. The Arizona attorney general is investigating the role of fake electors; no one has been charged."
Stern adds, "Hoffman's position makes him a gatekeeper for virtually all election-related legislation under consideration. That has become especially contentious in the western swing state where Republicans have been aggressive in trying to overturn or cast doubt on Democratic victories."
The AP reporter describes Michigan as a "rare example where a fake elector has lost influence due to charges."
"In July," Stern reports, "the Michigan Bureau of Elections barred Shelby Township Clerk Stan Grot from running any elections as the state attorney general brought criminal charges against him and 15 other Republicans for their roles as fake electors."
