Mediaite reports the Wednesday edition of Carl Higbie Frontline dropped a bomb of a theory on President Donald Trump’s uncharacteristic silence in the face of railing online anger.

Newsmax host Carl Higbie referenced the fact that despite billionaire and former Trump ally Elon Musk blasting the president’s big, beautiful budget bill on X this week, the president has not responded with retaliation via characteristic name-calling and threats. Instead, the president meekly re-posted an old May post harking back to the days when Trump and Elon were allegedly more tight.

But Higbie was ready to explain the behavior.

“I have a theory, but I’ve recently been right about a lot of things, so I’m just gonna roll with it: I think Trump might be working in tandem with Elon here to tank his own bill in a 4D chess move!” Higbie told his audience. “Just a theory. My reasoning? I mean, how many people in the history of ever — like Trump’s entire political career of the last decade — have come out against something Trump wants, and when has Trump just not gone off and completely obliterated them on a global scale?”

Higbie said it might explain the perceived timidity behind a historically strong personality like Trump taking punches without comment.

“Ron DeSantis says one bad thing about Trump and Trump ruined his presidential career potential,” Higbie continued. “[Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.)]—99 percent aligned with Trump, but doesn’t support the big beautiful bill, and now Trump is supporting a primary opponent against him. So why hasn’t Trump said anything negative about Elon?”

“Are you picking up what I’m puttin’ down?” Higbie prods. “Maybe Trump is reading the country is not sold on massive deficits and saying maybe ‘I shouldn’t settle for what Congress gave me, so let’s put Congress in the hot seat and force it back to the drawing board.”
