'Not in the mood': MSNBC host swiftly shuts down question about DNC candidates of color

Two weeks before Donald Trump takes the Oval Office for a second time, Democrats are working on their strategy to win back voters the party lost in November.
To kick start their strategy, the party is expected to select a new Democratic National Committee chair on February 1.
During MSNBC's latest episode of The Weekend Sunday, co-host — and former Republican National Committee chair — Michael Steele, asked whether there was anything or anyone "stopping men and women of color" from running for the DNC chair position.

So far, candidates for the critical role include Wisconsin Democratic Party Chair Ben Winkler, Minnesota Democratic Party leader Ken Martin, former Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley, New York State Senator James Skoufis, and former Democratic presidential candidate Marianne Williamson.
Steele's co-host, Symone Sanders Townsend, quickly shut down her colleague's inquiry.
"I was going to address this in the host chat, but let's be clear — I think the stories about why are there not more people of color running — Dammit, we just nominated the black lady, and y'all ain't pick her," Sanders-Townsend said. "So quit asking us to show up. Get somebody else to do it."
She continued, "Y'all just nominated the most capable person ever to run for the presidency in a truncated timeline, and all y'all did was pick this lady apart in the aftermath. Don't get me started. Quit asking where people of color are. We are sitting here not in the mood."
