Several polls over the last few months have shown Florida governor and 2024 GOP presidential candidate Ron DeSantis' campaign's rapid decline.

According to a Sunday morning report from The Miami Herald, the Republican Party of Florida's Saturday Freedom Summit offered evidence of DeSantis' struggle to win GOP support, even in the state he continues to govern.

The newspaper reports summit attendees Pete Crotty, and daughter LeeAnn Crotty both had a "front-row seat to what" they "saw as DeSantis’ diminishing stature in his home state," through their merchandise booth.

POLL: Should Trump be allowed to hold office again?

"We're trying to offload" $5 DeSantis hats, LeeAnn told the Herald, while $15 — and some $20 — 'TRUMP 2024' and 'GOD GUNS AND TRUMP'" hats didn't have any trouble selling.

"It’s going to be Trump," Pete told the newspaper, as LeeAnn advised DeSantis to "just stay put" in his current position.

The Herald noted when Trump addressed the audience, he "did not hold back in his attacks" on his Florida opponent, calling "DeSantis a 'wounded, falling bird from the sky,' while echoing "talking points that it was his endorsement that helped DeSantis win the governor's seat in 2018."
