During a conversation with MSNBC's Jen Psaki Monday, Colorado Secretary of State Jena Griswold discussed the personal impact of the state Supreme Court's ruling to disqualify Donald Trump from office under the 14th Amendment.

"Last month, Donald Trump warned of chaos and bedlam if other states followed Colorado's lead. In terms of threats, are you concerned about your own personal safety?" Psaki asked.

Griswold replied, Yes, I've been concerned about my safety since 2021, when the threats started to roll in. When this case was filed back in September, within 3 weeks of it being filed, I had 64 death threats. We're seeing the extreme right use threats to intimidate election workers and secretaries of state. It just shows what is on the line.

She continued, "If a political party is trying to cheat, steal or intimidate, there are major problems with that party. They are dangerous to American democracy. But just like your prior host said, I won't be intimidated. We cannot be intimidated. And the fact that Donald Trump had the audacity to say there would be bedlam and chaos to the United States Supreme Court depending on their decision just reeks of a low grade threat to me given his track record."
