George Conway: Trump’s 'pathological narcissism' is fueling 'full-scale' DOJ 'revolt'

On Valentine's Day 2025, the news broke that Southern District of New York federal prosecutor Hagan Scotten was resigning from the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) in response to the Trump Administration's interference in the criminal case against New York City Mayor Eric Adams.
Scotten, in a strongly worded resignation letter, declared that he isn't enough of a "fool" or a "coward" to go along with that interference. And this makes him the seventh federal prosecutor to resign from DOJ —
which is now headed by U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi, a Donald Trump loyalist — because of this scandal.
The following day, on Saturday morning, February 15, conservative attorney George Conway discussed Scotten's resignation from DOJ and the Trump Administration's interference in the Adams case during an appearance on MSNBC's "The Weekend."

Conway told host Michael Steele and his colleagues, "This is much worse because this is going to the functioning of U.S. attorneys offices nationwide. We're seeing a Justice Department, including the FBI, that is on the edge of full-scale revolt. Because they're being asked to do things that are just contrary to what their obligations to the nation are and their ethical obligations as lawyers."
The Never Trump conservative added that the resignation letters from DOJ prosecutors have been "really, really extraordinary."
Conway said that Trump's "pathological narcissism" is seriously undermining DOJ's stability.
The attorney told Steele and others, "(Prosecutors said) You are asking us to make a baseless motion to dismiss this case for reasons that have nothing to do with its merits but everything to do with politics. And that is just not the proper role of federal prosecutors."
