Former New Jersey governor and 2024 Republican presidential candidate Chris Christie on Tuesday rejected the idea of serving as vice president if ex-President Donald Trump wins a second White House term in 2024.

"Would you be his vice president if he asked you?" Newsmax host Eric Bolling inquired.

"No," Christie declared.

"Fair enough. We'd have to leave with that," Bolling said.

"I spoke to Mike Pence — I spoke to Mike Pence. The job doesn't sound like it was too great," Christie quipped.

"Mike Pence, because speaking of Mike Pence, Mike who? I'm just kidding. I'm teasing. Governor Chris Christie, thank you so much for joining us. Appreciate your time," Bolling added.

But Christie was not quite finished.

"Very unfair, very unfair to a good conservative like Mike. Very unfair," he continued.

"Well, no, listen, he was asked a question about how Americans should take the war and spending $130, $140 billion," Bolling claimed. "And he says he didn't care how the Americans felt about that..."

Christie interjected, "Not what he said, but that's okay. We shouldn't have been, we shouldn't have had people on Capitol Hill chanting, 'Hang Mike Pence' after the service Mike gave to the country and the service he gave to Donald Trump for four years and Donald Trump said that was okay. Is that the kind of president we want, Eric?"

Bolling replied, "I don't know."
