Conservative slams MAGA Republicans for 'defunding the police' and 'pampering elites'
During the presidencies of Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush, journalist Bill Kristol was a staunch defenders of GOP policies. And he often butted heads with Democrats over his neocon views on foreign policy.
But these days, Kristol is an outspoken Never Trump conservative. And he is rooting for President Joe Biden in the 2024 presidential election.
Kristol, now with The Bulwark, expressed his views on the state of the GOP in a September 13 post on X, formerly Twitter.

The anti-Trump conservative posted, "With promises to defund the FBI, efforts to prevent the IRS from collecting taxes from the wealthy, and attempts to shut down differing viewpoints in schools — it seems to be today's Right, more than the Left, that's for defunding the police, pampering elites, and cancel culture."
Because of his anti-Trump views, Kristol has been shunned by much of the right-wing media. But he has often criticized Trump from the right on The Bulwark, a conservative website, and has been a frequent guest on MSNBC.
