President Donald Trump is still calling for Republicans to Congress to pass, as soon as possible, a "big, beautiful bill" that will combine his legislative priorities. But the devil is in the details, as GOP lawmakers have a variety of views on what that megabill should ultimately look like.

There is plenty of infighting among House Republicans over the specifics, and Senate Republicans don't necessarily see eye to eye with their House counterparts on the megabill's elements.

Sen. John Kennedy (R-Louisiana) discussed the budgetary process during a late April appearance on Fox Business.

"Some of them would make a valium nervous," Kennedy said of his colleagues. "But I'm not anxious…. It will be a job for alcohol, not coffee. But at the end of the 60 days, we won't reach a consensus. Nor will the House."

Kennedy's Fox Business interview is receiving some reactions on X, formerly Twitter.

The National Journal's Savannah Behrmann tweeted, "Sen. Kennedy on the next few couple of months negotiating the reconciliation bill: 'It'll be a job for alcohol, not coffee.' Says he doesn't expect easy consensus, and that Trump will need to be involved to 'be the arbiter' and 'put his muscle behind it' to pass.

Behrmann, in a separate tweet, posted, "He said he hopes leadership in both chambers puts a two-month limit to 'deliberate.' 'We will not reach a consensus. There will not come a point when all Republican senators stand up and say, 'I'm happy’. That's just not going to happen. So, there's no need to prolong it."

NewNation's Kristen Escow summarized the interview this way: "Sen. John Kennedy on reconciliation: 'It’ll be a job for alcohol, not coffee.'"

X user @jfellpollright complained about Kennedy's comments, posting, "Kennedy makes life difficult for Republican voters. He ought to consider retiring like Mitch McConnell. We need younger Republican representation that know how to get it done without causing drama."
