Although the 2022 midterms didn’t bring the massive red wave that the Republican National Committee (RNC) was hoping for, the GOP has flipped the U.S. House of Representatives. Democrats will still have a narrow majority in the U.S. Senate, and they may even expand it slightly if incumbent Sen. Raphael Warnock defeats Republican Herschel Walker in a runoff election in Georgia. MTG is short for Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia, a far-right MAGA conspiracy theorist who was reelected in the 2022 midterms. And Greene is hoping that McCarthy, as House speaker, will choose her for the House Oversight Committee.

DOJ is short for U.S. Department of Justice. Greene believes that Donald Trump supporters who have faced charges in connection with the January 6, 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol Building have been unfairly treated.
