Watch: Herschel Walker delivers disjointed speech about climate change
United States Senate candidate Herschel Walker (R-Georgia) recently gave a speech at the Hall County Republican Party Independence Day Picnic in which he fired off a series of oversimplified claims about climate change.
"Get rid of the pipeline, get rid of the energy, starts your downfall, because we need energy for everything, do y'all know that?" Walker said. "And they would talk about the Green New Deal, you know climate change. I’m gonna help ya’ll with that real quickly, and I'm gonna do it in the Wrightsville way so you can understand what I'm saying."
Walker then suggested that foreign powers, rather than corporate polluters, are primarily responsible for poisoning American skies and waterways. While that does have some validity, it nonetheless dismisses the damage being done by domestic sources. To Walker's credit, however, it was a tiny break away from the GOP's broader stance that climate change is either grossly overblown or nonexistent.
“We in America have some of the cleanest air, the cleanest water of anybody in the world,” Walker said to cheers from the crowd. "So what we're gonna do is we're gonna put from the Green New Deal millions or billions of dollars cleaning our good air up. So all of a sudden, China and India ain't put nothing in their – cleaning that situation up."
Walker added that "since we don’t control the air our good air decided to float over to China’s bad air so when China gets our good air, their bad air got to move. So it moves over to our good air space. Then now we got we to clean that back up."

Walker's campaign, which was endorsed by former President Donald Trump, has been defined by lies and gaffes as well as petty personal and financial scandals. And his address on July 4th is raising even more doubts about his viability in November's general election, where he will square off against incumbent Democratic Senator Reverend Raphael Warnock.
"Please…this is getting embarrassing for him. I’m surprised his family hasn’t stepped in and gotten him into assisted living," one onlooker tweeted after the video surfaced on Monday.
Another person threw in additional conspiracy mumbo-jumbo.
"That’s false…some1 tell him that Hugo Chavez actually used the cancerous windmills that kills millions of bald eagles to move the Bad China air to just the Red states so the Blue states were clean and the GOP wud all get sick from the bad air AND the cancerous windmills," they said.
Other jokes followed:
It's like when I fart in the house. The rest of the family has to clean that air and send it back to me all fresh. Then I can fart again.
In other famous Herschel quotes: At CVS to the cashier: Hey, I gave you a $20 bill and the total was $7.00. I’d like my Climate Change
If he was in 6th grade and gave this presentation, the teacher would ask to see him after class so he could explain his lack of effort to learn the topic
Herschel Walker seriously out here confusing world climate change with the plot of 'WandaVision' tho.
Is he trying to explain why the EPA should be abolished? Because then it would make sense (insert eye roll here).
He’s targeting to the MAGA cult, the cult whose leader said ‘drink bleach’ or ‘big water’ and the guy who stared directly into a solar eclipse….yes he really has supporters (just to name a few)
If he was running to be a stand up comedian this might be funny. The fact that he's running to be a SENATOR is horrific.
So, while his words make no sense as spoken. His idea is correct - the climate is a global issue! It cannot be dealt with by a few countries, we are all responsible!
Look’a here; the excellent air we have floated over their lousy air, then it does this scientific thing called; “intermobobulates” together, then it all floats back here for us to pay to clean up their bad air, but we don't own the air tho’ You know what I'm say’n.
