Right-wing South Carolina pastor Mark Burns urged his supporters to vandalize cars and beat up Antifa protesters during an interview with The Black Conservative Preacher podcast host Quincy Franklin last weekend.

“You see an Antifa flag, knock out their window,” Burns, a Republican congressional candidate, hollered.

“Forgive me, Jesus,” he added. “Lord, forgive me. I’m asking for forgiveness right now. I’m asking for forgiveness right now.”

Burns then cited the Bible to justify his call for violence.

“I'm just saying the Bible says that ‘the Kingdom suffers violence and the violent take it by force,'” Burns declared, paraphrasing Matthew 11. “The problem is we’re being too cowardly and too weak and we think that man has authority over us when we serve a big God who has given us power and authority to tread over every demonic spirit. So, if they’re gonna knock out a window, you go knock out two of theirs.”

Quincy chimed in at that point, saying that "Jesus said, ‘Go buy two swords,'" paraphrasing scripture.

Burns was elated and agreed.

“Y’all better go buy some swords in the name of Jesus,” he yelled. “Go start knocking out some windows!"

Burns, having realized how his words would probably be interpreted, attempted to backpedal his remarks.

"Let me be clear, because I got Vice News here and they already think I'm trying to start a civil war," he said.

“I’m only saying that if they’re going to knock out our windows, we’d knock out theirs too. That's all I'm trying to say,” Burns insisted.

"We wanna do whatever we can to prevent violence, alright? We wanna do whatever we can do prevent violence. We don't want violence. But the reality is... there is absolutely self-defense and they believe that we Republicans are soft and we are quiet and we are cowering down to Antifa and Black Lives Matter. The devil is a liar. Don’t let my title [of pastor] confuse you," he continued before contradicting himself. "I'm telling ya. I’ve been waiting for Antifa! Listen, you stop right now. Let me jump out. I've been waiting here to jump on Antifa, Lord... I’m here, come get me. That’s my mentality. Come get me. Want some? Get some. The devil is a liar. I ain't the one."

After that, Burns said that Antifa activists look for "skinny unathletic people to push around. Let them come push me around."

Burns also pledged to “ Will Smith them in a heartbeat,” referring to the actor's infamous slap. “I’ll put one of them to sleep.”
