Rudy Giuliani Accuses Robert Mueller of Trying to 'Frame' Trump
Donald Trump’s lawyer Rudy Giuliani accused special counsel Robert Mueller of trying to “frame” Donald Trump, echoing the president’s charge that “13 highly partisan Democrats” are trying to “get him in trouble when he hasn’t done anything wrong.”
Giuliani made the remark at the Globes capital market in Tel Aviv, CNBC reports. He also repeated the claim Trump has the power to pardon himself, but doesn’t have a crime to pardon himself for.
Giuliani, who serves at the president’s outside legal counsel and public relations point man, has made a series of dubious claims about Trump’s authority. Tuesday, Giuliani was forced to clarify after he remarked Trump could shoot former FBI Director James Comey and not face charges as president.
Giuliano told the Huffington Post he meant that suggestion as a “hypothetical.”
