Nominate your own Supreme Court Justice

News & Politics

With John Roberts as Chief Justice a foregone conclusion, as soon as this Friday, Bush will name his nominee to fill Sandra Day O'Connor's seat--the only real swing vote seat on the court.

Here are some of the names that are being thrown around:
Larry Thomspon
Edith Clement
Emilio Garza
Consuelo Callahan
Maureen Mahoney

But it's not too late to suggest some names who would really be a wonderful addition to the court. Mrs. Bush says she wants it to be a woman and Bush has hinted it might be a person of color, so how about Eva Jefferson Patterson? Another good woman could be Barbara Pariente, Chief Justice of the Florida Supreme Court. Or, suppose he decides to go with another white man, how about Michael Ratner, President of the Center for Constitutional Rights. Like John Roberts, he can be charming and has cute, though older, kids.

Any other suggestions? We have till Friday, at least, to dream.
