... too bad most of Alternet's articles on the topic, especially those on pornography, are poorly written, poorly thought out, unbelievably biased, and often borderline or outright sexist towards men.

We are sexual beings

We read and comment about sex first because each of us is born with an overwhelming ache to find lovers and bear children. Our clocks are ticking. We all suppress this innate emotion, but it always comes out.

Furthermore, generation after generation despises their parents' assistance in suppressing feelings of love.

It really boils over on Alternet when Republican politicians also get into the sexual suppression business. "Keep your hands off my body" sometimes means "don't stop me from finding love".

Some improvement - well, not really

"Accusing people of depraved behavior can be the first step to viewing them as 'moral inferiors' and denying them basic human rights."
- Sarah Blaffer Hrdy

Last year all ten articles on this list were written by women. So I guess having two men make the list this year is a big improvement - until I recall how basically awful and misguided those two articles were.

We've got a long way to go toward gender equality, and viewing male sexuality as problematical (at best) is hardly a step in the right direction. Once again AlterNet comes through and demonstrates how backwards its thinking is.
