'Do the research!' Jimmy Kimmel mocks Trump conspiracy theories in hilarious YouTube parody

ABC late-night host Jimmy Kimmel just pilloried both President Donald Trump and conspiracy theorists in a satirical YouTube video entitled: "The Rabbit Hole with Jimmy Kimmel: Is Trump a Time Traveler?"

Assuming the persona of a conspiratorial YouTube host (even telling viewers "never trust anything you hear, unless you hear it from me") Kimmel openly wondered if Trump was hundreds of years old. He pointed to "a lot of compelling evidence" that suggests Trump "just doesn't seem like a man who fits into our modern times."

Kimmel, who promised "to do the research the mainstream media won't," asserted that Trump actually came from 14th century London, saying the capital of the United Kingdom "wasn't always just a big line for a giant Ferris wheel." He observed that Trump "loves naming stuff after himself," and noted the existence of a "Trump Alley" in London and a "Trumpington Village Hall," which was built with anonymous donations that Kimmel called "interesting."

Later in the segment, Kimmel even claimed to have found a portrait of the 47th president of the United States dating back to the 18th century.

"Look at that fat face and the tiny hands. If we just replace that wig with his newer wig, it's definitely him," Kimmel said. "It's even painted in the same pose as his mugshot."

"When this mugshot was taken, Trump claimed he weighed 215 pounds. Now we know that's not true. Trump hasn't weighed 215 pounds for hundreds of years," Kimmel said. "But we also know he never lies. So what did he mean? Pounds is also how the British say 'money.' So if Trump had 215 pounds when he had his mugshot pained in 1770, how much would that be in today's money? According to the Bank of England inflation calculator, 215 pounds in 1770 is now £33,401."

"3-3-4-0-1. I've seen that number before. But where? It's the ZIP code for West Palm Beach, Florida," Kimmel said, as the background music came to a crescendo. "Remind me, where did Trump hold his victory celebration the night he was reelected? The Palm Beach County Convention Center. 650 Okeechobee Boulevard, West Palm Beach Florida, 33401. Do I even need to go on?"

YouTube Removed a Compilation Video Exposing Alex Jones' Lies But Left His Propaganda Videos Up

On April 17, two Sandy Hook families announced defamation lawsuits against conspiracy theorist Alex Jones. While Media Matters has long documented Jones’ claims that the 2012 mass shooting in Newtown, CT, was staged, upon hearing the news of the legal action, my colleague Leanne Naramore made a compilation video of some of Jones’ attacks, which a cursory search showed no one had done before.
