Dear Dreamer 13

REFLECTION OF AN ANGELDEAR SUZ: My nightmare started out like this. I was walking down the street. I was wearing a long white dress and sandals. It started to rain very hard so I walked into a place I thought was a church. I walked all the way into this building and I heard something that sounded like angels singing. I opened the door to the sanctuary. The pews were black onyx and the seats were blood red velvet with snakes sewn into the seats. The ceiling was so beautiful! It had angels all over it. As I walked down the aisle, I saw a cross on the wall. It had a snake wrapped around it. On the altar, there was a table with a knife on it. I looked into the blade of the knife and I didn't see my reflection. I saw the reflection of an angel or a demon or something. I felt scared.DEAR DREAMER: Your dream contains many religious and spiritual metaphors, The altar, the snake, the cross, the rain, the colors white and red, are all images of rich metaphoric hue. In the dream, you wear white, which is the symbol of purity and wisdom. You enter a sacred place where you journey into your mind's conceptual ideology. You endeavor to understand your surroundings. Ultimately your dream reveals your spiritual quest. Your dream is asking, "Why am I here?"Perhaps you are currently seeking to understand the deeper meaning in your existence. Are you asking yourself larger philosophical questions at this time? Seek out greater understanding of your spiritual values and beliefs. Your dream is leading you to the answers. Follow it. It is the first step on one of many journeys. I thank you for sharing this rich and soulful dream.Keep Dreaming! SUZDRIVING A BEAT UP PORSCHEDEAR SUZ: I recently broke up with a man that I had been talking to online for a year. He lives on the East Coast. I had wanted to go to see him since he offered to pay my way and all my expenses. He claims that he makes a lot of money and that buying airline tickets is nothing to him. Well, last week I called things off but wanted to remain friends. In my dream, he picked me up at the airport and we were driving in his beat up Porsche. His friend Erin was in the front seat with him and I was in the back. I knew she had her period because she had a box of pads next to her. She tired to scoot over to make room for me but I did not fit. Then we were at his parent's house and the kitchen was dirty. I was cleaning the counter tops. I wanted to kiss him. He is on the counter top and one of his friends is on the couch, watching us. Then I am in the bathroom; he had two tubs and two toilets. In addition, the bathroom was dirty. Well...that is my dream. I dreamed this the night after I called him to break off our romance.DEAR DREAMER: Dreams of dirt or filth typically represent the dreamer's hidden fears or distaste relating to a person or event. I think it is interesting that there are many images of disrepair. The Porsche, the kitchen, and the bathroom are all indicative of your dislike for this man.More importantly, since you mention you had issues with his claims of wealth, your dream could be symbolizing your desire to "clean" him out of your life. Perhaps your suspicions about his boastfulness have led you to re-evaluate why you were attracted to him in the first place. Do you feel you lowered yourself by having feelings for this man? Your dream is your voyage away from the mistrust and suspicion in this relationship.Keep Dreaming! SUZWhat have you been dreaming lately? Dear Dreamer 12

CHOKINGDEAR SUZ: I had a dream about this guy at work. I should not be dating him because I am his manager. In addition, the day I dreamed this, we had kissed for the first time. Everyone from work was in the dream, and we were on the campus of the university I attend. We were escaping from a jail, through a window, but we were underground. When we got out, everything was vividly green, all the grass and leaves, but everything else was dull. Several of us got out through the window, and we were running up this huge hill, away from the jailers. I heard somebody scream a name. I looked, and he was choking. He collapsed. I looked around, frantic, and I saw my brother, who is my manager, standing on top of the hill. I ran up to him and was screaming and crying for him to help. He just stood there, staring at me, like a mannequin. I ran to the other manager, who has a mothering personality, crying and very upset that my brother would not help. I heard some cheering in the background, then everyone was around me, and they told me he was okay. I ran over to him. I began to cry because I was so happy. He put his arm around me. His shirt was a bright purple color, which is the color of his work shirt that he usually wears. Then I was on a futuristic highway, with bright neon purple lights everywhere. When I woke up I was confused, and I had a pain in my heart, not a literal pain, but I was scared that he had really gotten hurt. It was as if I felt like I could not live without him, I felt awkward.DEAR DREAMER: Your dream is very interesting because it sheds light on your feelings regarding the man you love at work as well as hidden emotions of resentment towards your brother. When I read this dream, I wondered if you make mental connections between your brother and this man from work. The essence of your dream is your feeling the need to protect the man you love from scandal. You mention you "should not" be seeing him because you work together. In your dream, you do everything in your power to save him from choking. Choking is a metaphor for suffocation, or lack of freedom. Since you are not open about your relationship and you are his boss, this obviously has caused you concern. The portion of your dream that refers to your brother indicates you have pent up frustration towards him. Do you feel he has let you down in some way? Has he been a distant figure in your life? Once you determine how you feel about your brother, and put aside your fears for your coworker, your dream will make sense. A new view on relationships will be yours.Keep Dreaming! SUZPLAYING GAMESDEAR SUZ: I had this dream the other night, and I have debated about putting it up here. It was confusing. I am out with a woman. I do not know who she is. We go back to her home at the end of the evening and we are sitting in her kitchen. I remember standing in one corner of the kitchen close to the door (leading out of the house) and she was sitting at the table. As we are talking, this guy walks in. Apparently, he lives there. He walks by me as if I am not there and walks over to the table and sits down. I continue to talk to the woman, and attempt to make conversation with this new character. He does not speak. He just leans on the table and stares at me very intently ... looking mildly amused. He looks angry. He wants to start a fight. After several minutes of this, and realizing that the woman is actually enjoying the situation, I decide to leave, because I am getting angry. As I walk out, he begins to shout insults, and she says, "No, don't." This guy's car is blocking my truck, so I walk back to the door and very calmly say, "You might want to move your car before I drive over it." At this point, I wake up, and I can only remember wondering what brought that on. I am not currently dating anyone, so I wonder who this woman is.DEAR DREAMER: Your dream lady is the persona of you! Your dream is about anger. You are angry with the other man, and fed up with his behavior. In the dream, the woman remains passive. In the end, you tell the man you will drive over his car, because you are so enraged.I suggest you examine the dream in terms of pent up emotions of hostility and rage. Do you feel you let things pass when you should make your anger more clear? Have you had a recent incident with a friend or co-worker that frustrated you? Perhaps you are angry at life. These are the issues that need to be addressed. If you look at your life and ask yourself where your anger lies, you will surely find the deeper meaning to your dream.Keep Dreaming! Dear Dreamer 11

DREAMING OF DEATHDEAR SUZ: My dream last night woke me up and it really bothered me. I was dreaming I was walking in snow at night. There is nothing but snow and I am walking with an unknown companion. It is cold and we keep walking. It seems important that we find something but there is just snow. I finally say, "We might die if we stay out here and it gets any colder." I am not feeling upset by this, just stating a fact. I think I was feeling peaceful but concerned that we had not gotten to our destination. We finally come to a shack. We walk in and I see a car out the window of the shack. I suddenly feel like now we can get where were going. I turn excitedly to my companion and she is no longer there. I feel like I really need to get away in this car! I run out to the car and the driver of the car is walking away. I ask if I may have a ride and he says "yes." I feel relieved and get into the car. Once I get into the car, I realize I smell like death and have a gray appearance. I am very nervous and alarmed. I think I am dead. I think that this man will not take me to my destination because I smell so bad. I plead with him to take me and then I wake up. Upon awakening, I really gave myself a once over because I was sure I had died.DEAR DREAMER: Extreme warmth or cold is usually symbolic of shedding old identities or fixed and static pressures. Since you walk in snow, which is a symbol of purity, you may feel you are lost in your own ideology. Indeed, your dream reveals aspects of your mind's curiosity over death and the afterlife.Throughout the dream, you feel "stuck" and unable to move forward or escape your plight. You search endlessly to reach your unknown destination. The end of your dream is fascinating because smell and odor take over. This could represent shame or vulnerability over an issue in your life. Yet, the real meaning behind your dream is a search for emotional warmth and change. Your snow makes you feel frozen in life. Seek out deeper meaning in your issues with vulnerability and identity. You are voyaging into new areas of freedom. Good luck to you!Keep Dreaming! SUZPREGNANTDEAR SUZ: I am getting a divorce from my husband of four years. He is with someone new and I too am with someone new. I have been seeing my "new friend" for almost one year and have had sex with him. My husband and I have not been together sexually for almost six months. I have had a pregnancy test done and I am not pregnant.I keep having this same dream repeatedly. I am screaming when the dream begins. I feel pain in my stomach. Then, my boyfriend is smiling at me and is saying, "you guys are just fine." Then I hear a voice I have never heard before telling me to "push." Then I hear a baby cry, and then the strange voice says, "I think a see another head." He tells me again to push again. Then I hear two babies crying and they hand one baby to my boyfriend and hand me the other baby. When I look down at the newborn baby it looks like my boyfriend and my eyes. I look at the baby my boyfriend is holding and it looks like the other baby but it is a girl and the one I am holding is a boy. We (my boyfriend and myself) want me to be pregnant by the way!DEAR DREAMER: Your dream is a simple illustration of unfulfilled desires. You mention you are trying to have a child with your new friend. Your previous marriage ended which brought about this new relationship. I wondered what type of regrets you had about your husband and your past. Often dreams of pregnancy reveal the dreamer's search for a new outlook. Though they can portend an oncoming arrival, more often they reveal the embarkation of a journey in the dreamer's life. Your dream is about your new marriage and new emotional vista with your future husband. If you have twins, be sure to let me know!Keep Dreaming! SUZWhat have you been dreaming lately? Dear Dreamer 10

FROZEN PIZZA BOATDEAR SUZ: I have had this dream several times. Every time I have this dream, I am always with a different person. The dream begins with a friend. We walk and step onto this frozen pizza boat. Everything up to this point is very gray and foggy. We get on and we decide to walk around. Every time we walk into a room on the boat, we start hearing a pounding noise and it gets closer and closer. My friend and I push against the door, trying to keep the door shut. We are holding the door and the pounding gets louder and louder. I am sweating and I feel something pushing against the door. The door gives and I wake up. I always wake up in a cold sweat and I am really scared and exhausted. I have had this dream four or five times. Why? DEAR DREAMER: Though the image of a frozen pizza boat is comical and magical, it is not the essential symbol in your dream. I loved reading this dream because you begin by dreaming of this phantasmagoric boat, yet you quickly journey into the aspects of force and human will. You search through this boat and fight off a presence from the other side of a door.Doors are symbolic of the different planes of reality or the mind. You journey through them to discover a new part of yourself. Because you fight against an unknown force, I believe you must be fighting a larger pressure you feel in your life. This could any great issue such as work, love, or identity. Because your dream has occurred before, it must be something you have yet to conquer. I suggest you seek out the true meaning behind your struggles. Your answers will be found there. Let me know!Keep Dreaming!SUZTELEPATHIC?DEAR SUZ: On the tenth, I placed my second post about my dreams of car crashes. Well, guess what happened yesterday morning? You got it. I was in a wreck and suddenly I have stopped having the dreams. Am I telepathic? Even though the dreams have stopped I would still like to know what they meant.DEAR DREAMER: This is a controversial topic because a part of science believes that precognition in dreams is not possible. Many dream researchers and historians have found evidence to the contrary. Though it is possible that your dream could have caused you to worry excessively, thus causing you to have the crash, I believe your dream represents precognitive dreaming. This type of dreaming is not telepathy. This is clairvoyance, or seeing the future. Carl Jung and other dream experts studied precognitive dreaming and wrote about it. You may want to pick up some of books on the topic! Abraham Lincoln dreamed of his death a week before he was assassinated. Though not all dreams of death mean we will die, it is important to write down our thoughts and dreams. Only through chronicling our nocturnal wanderings, do we gain a better and clearer picture for our futures. Thank you for sharing this dream event!Keep Dreaming!SUZWhat have you been dreaming lately? Dear Dreamer 9

GLIDING ABOVE THE WATERDEAR SUZ: I had a dream a couple of nights ago. In my dream, I was gliding just above the surface of the ocean. It was like being on a boat and looking into the water. The water is rushing by you so fast. This is how it felt. The water was a seaweed and turquoise color. As I glided, I dipped down and the water was warm. It was a completely safe environment. There were dolphins, eels, and manatees. They were all friendly. I was scared at first, but then they started rubbing against me. This went on for a minute, and when I became comfortable, a black eel, attacked me. I woke up scared and tense. Could you please help me understand this?DEAR DREAMER: The visual imagery in your dream reflects a new outlook on life. The blue and green colors of the water represent spiritual awakening and a refreshing take on old issues. Water represents the emotional side of life. You glide along in flight, free from all restrictions. The animals around you comfort you. You are at peace in your world. The end of your dream represents your fear of the unknown. Your subconscious mind is reminding you that peace and tranquility can be fleeting and temporary prospects. You awake in a state of fear. The true essence of your dream, is one of flying and peace. I suggest you hang on to those images and let the eel slink back into his black hole where he belongs!Keep Dreaming!SUZHE DISSAPEARED IN A FLASH OF BLUE LIGHTDEAR SUZ: I am still in love with a man, but we are no longer seeing each other. We had a very intense relationship on all levels. About two months ago, early in the morning, I dreamed he was in my room. I looked and I saw him by my bed and he was taking some little black socks off my feet. My feet had been feeling hot and once he took them off, I could fell the cool air on them. He began to rub my feet. I looked at him and then realized that he could not be there and that I must be dreaming. As soon as I became conscious, he disappeared in what was a flash of blue light that had an electrical sound to it. Then he was gone! I awoke with the sensation of his presence. DEAR DREAMER: Your dream symbolizes the rapture you felt by the presence of your former lover. I think the flash of blue light is interesting because it is symbolic of a spiritual event or healing. Blue is the color of mystery. Perhaps you feel perplexed by your relationship's ending. The warmth on your feet reveals a search for a more grounded place. Extreme warmth or cold is usually symbolic of shedding old identities or pressures. You seek ease from the aftermath of this intense affair. You are released when he removes your socks. The ending of your dream is a positive one, which lead me to believe you are on your way to a more enlightened view of the man and his purpose in your life.Keep Dreaming!SUZWhat have you been dreaming lately? BLACK WEDDING DRESSDEAR SUZ: A few nights ago, I dreamed that I was getting married to my boyfriend, who on the wedding day, said he had a business trip and wasn't going to be able to make it. For some reason, the wedding still went on but none of my family or friends showed up, except for my grandmother who kept saying everything would be all right overtime I started to cry. His entire family was there and when I tried to be friendly to them, they were mean to me. My wedding dress was black lace, which freaked me out. I was scared to death to get up in front of all the guests who obviously didn't like me at all, when my boyfriend showed up in casual clothes like nothing ever happened. Then, I woke up.DEAR DREAMER: Your dream illustrates the supreme and sometimes complex paradox of the dreaming world. In your dream, you find yourself experiencing the "anti-wedding." Everything in your dream-story tells a tale of opposition. The dress is black, your family does not show up, you are crying and your boyfriend does not seem to be aware of what is going on. Yours is a dream of staggering doubt and confusion. I wondered what was happening in your waking world to create such an extreme vision of sleep. Are you having trouble in your relationship? Do you doubt your boyfriend's love? Further, do you doubt yourself? I suggest you take some time and ponder how you view love and commitment. Look at the bonds you have forged and contemplate personal fulfillment. Remember that love is not only about giving, but receiving as well. Once you understand what motivates you to embrace love, your dream will lead you to higher vistas of self- empowerment.Keep Dreaming! SUZBACK TO MAUIDEAR DREAMER: I keep dreaming that I move back to Maui. I used to live out there and I wake up completely scared and then I start to remember why I left in the first place. This is probably like the fourth time I had the same dream. I'm there in Hawaii and the feeling is not good I'm scared and wonder why I am back there.DEAR DREAMER: Your dream illustrates how vital association is in dreaming. I have spent a great deal of time in Hawaii. While most people would equate Hawaii with paradise and tranquility, you obviously carry feelings of negativity and doubt in relation to your former home. Your return to Maui is not one filled with joy. Since you make no mention of why you left, it is hard for me to gage the best way for you to use your dream to further your future. Yet, your dream is asking you to react and reflect on the changes you have made in life. How far have you come since you lived there? Are you proud of your accomplishments in your new life? Seek out greater appreciation for the world you live in. Embrace the courage you have shown! Once you know the person you have become instead of the person you once were, you will be able to put this dream in the proper perspective.Keep Dreaming! SUZWhat have you been dreaming lately? Dear Dreamer 7

HOUSE ON FIREDEAR SUZ: I had a dream that I was in a house that I used to live in and that there had been a fire and almost everything that I owned had been destroyed. I was really upset but in my thoughts everything was going to be ok because I was alive.DEAR DREAMER: Your dream, while simple and basic in design, relates a profound human message of survival as well as renewal. Of course, a home is a place we live and build our ideas of self. At home we create our worlds. To dream of your home being on fire is a symbol of crisis. Your dream takes you on a journey of self-discovery as you view everything familiar being destroyed.By the end of your dream, you recover from your sense of loss over the material aspects of house and home and you embrace your own life. Here is the central theme in your dream. Yours is a dream of gratitude and realization. I wondered if you recently had insights on the purpose of your life. Do you feel that you have discovered the value in living? Are you happy to be alive? Seek out the answers to these questions. Know that your dream has brought you a wonderful message -- to know life is to know the true meaning of home.Keep Dreaming! SUZFATHERDEAR SUZ: My Father died June 28, 1998. He was in the automobile industry and he had a lot of friends. One month ago, I had a dream that the phone rang and it was a recording that was advertising an upcoming auto auction. The recording was in my Dad's voice. A few seconds after the recording was over, he started to talk to me. He used to call me Bethyboo. He said, "You have been looking for me Bethyboo" and then he hung up the phone. I was really confused about the call and thought someone was playing a trick on me.A few minutes later my sister called in my dream and said she had just had a dream about our Dad. She told me he called her and was laughing and then hung up the phone. She said she remembered his laugh. After this I woke up feeling kind of sad. I thought this was kind of strange because it was like reality for me and in my dream my sister was dreaming. I was wondering if you could tell me what you thought it might mean.DEAR DREAMER: Your dream is unusual because it contains a dream within a dream. The bonds between you and your sister are interesting as they connect you with your father, who is no longer with you. Yet, in your dream, he remains in spirit. Your dream is about the discovery of your father's spirit and what it might mean for your life and your future.I think is it fascinating that your Dad brings you a message. When he says, "You have been looking for me Bethyboo" he touches on your internal landscape. Is it true that you have been seeking out his memory in your waking life? Do you feel that as time goes by, you are losing touch with his presence? Healing takes a great deal of time and patience. When my father died, it took me many years before I found complete peace with his passing. I suggest you nurture your soul and allow yourself more time for grieving. Integrate your father's memory into your daily life by loving his influence on your world. Nothing dies as long as it is remembered.Keep Dreaming! SUZWhat have you been dreaming lately?
