Thom Hartmann: Welcome back. Thom Hartmann here with you, and I'm very pleased to have on the line with us Professor William Black. He's a Professor of Economics and Law at the University of Missouri, Kansas City, the author of The Best Way to Rob a Bank is to Own One. Professor Black is a former bank regulator who led investigations into the Savings and Loan crisis in the eighties. He blogs or writes for neweconomicperspectives.org and you can tweet him at WilliamKBlack. Professor Black, welcome back to the program.
Basically all the progress—or much of the progress, anyway—the Obama administration has made over the past 8 years is now in danger—and so is the internet as we know it.
Thom Hartmann: In the best of the rest of the news, "you are what you eat". A phrase we've all heard from a friend, a parent, or maybe even a teacher. Sounds like a myth but it's actually true and it could save your life. Every year tens of millions of Americans die from health problems that are totally preventable. These health problems are totally preventable because they all have the same root cause: the animal-based diet that is being forced down our throat by the food industry, big ag and the politicians they own.
Thom Hartmann: Hello. I'm Thom Hartmann, in Washington DC. Welcome to the Big Picture.
Thom Hartmann: Welcome back. So pleased to have in the studio with us our old friend Dr. Justin Frank, MD, psychoanalyst, clinical professor, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Science at George Washington University. He is the author of Bush on the Couch: Inside the Mind of the President, in fact we talked about this on this very program back a decade ago, it seems.
The following is a transcript of a recent interview conducted by Thom Hartmann:
Conservatives live in a fantasy world, and nowhere is that more clear right now than in the state of Washington.
Billionaires don't need a social safety net, so they're using the right-wing spin machine to destroy it.
Are we really the land of the free and the home of the brave?
When it comes to net neutrality, conservatives are absolutely clueless.
