Here are the GOP lawmakers leading the whine fest against Biden's new vaccine mandates

Mississippi GOP governor slammed for imposing COVID restrictions on residents while holding Christmas parties

President Joe Biden's aggressive vaccination campaign has triggered strong opposition from Republican governors, leaders, and lawmakers who still believe COVID vaccination should be a choice rather than a mandate.

Now, according to HuffPost, Republicans are complaining and whining about the president's stern approach. South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster (R) has vowed to fight "to the gates of hell to protect the liberty and livelihood of every South Carolinian." South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem (R) on Friday, September 10, confirmed her team is preparing a lawsuit in response to Biden's initiative.

Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves (R) has also tweeted his grievances. "The vaccine itself is life-saving, but this unconstitutional move is terrifying," tweeted Reeves.

Texas Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R), who has supported vaccination, is unsure of the aggressive approach toward taking the jab.

"The right path is built upon explaining, educating and building trust, including explaining the risks/benefits/pros/cons in an honest way so a person can make their own decision," the Texas lawmaker said.

The publication also reports that J.D. Vance, "Hillbilly Elegy" author and Republican U.S. Senate candidate in Ohio, "is calling on businesses to ignore mandates he describes as Washington's 'attempt to bully and coerce citizens.'"

Currently more than 200 million Americans have received the COVID vaccination but an additional 80 million citizens are still unvaccinated. With so many individuals still unvaccinated, Delta variant COVID cases have soared by more than 300%, hospitalizations have doubled and the death rate has accelerated.

The pandemic has grown worse in key states where Republican governors have railed against COVID mitigation recommendations. Speaking at a Washington, D.C., school on Friday, Biden criticized those governors.

"I am so disappointed that particularly some Republican governors have been so cavalier with the health of these kids, so cavalier with the health of their communities," Biden said during his speech. "This isn't a game."

Republican pollster Frank Luntz, who has aided the Biden administration in its efforts to get as many Americans vaccinated as possible, admitted that vaccinations will probably hit a plateau at approximately 75%.

"The only way to exceed that, which he needs to for herd immunity, is to mandate it," Luntz said. "It will make a lot of people angry and even more resistant, but those who are simply hesitant will act now. He's done the best he can under the circumstances."

Legal battles will likely ensue in multiple Republican-led states as the Biden administration fights for mass vaccination.
