'Jim Jordan doesn't belong': Social media explodes with reactions to McCarthy’s MAGA committee picks

Before House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy made his selections for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's select committee on the January 6 insurrection, Democrats on Capitol Hill were hoping to God that he wouldn't have the bad taste to pick the buffoonish Rep. Jim Jordan of Ohio. But sure enough, Jordan is one of the five House Republicans McCarthy has picked — along with Rep. Jim Banks of Indiana, Rep. Kelly Armstrong of North Dakota, Rep. Rodney Davis of Illinois and Rep. Troy Nehls of Texas. Jordan has been an unapologetic promoter of the Big Lie, the false and debunked conspiracy theory that the 2020 presidential election was stolen from former President Donald Trump because of widespread voter fraud. And Jordan, Nehls and Banks all voted against certifying now-President Joe Biden's Electoral College victory on January 6, although Davis and Armstrong were among the House Republicans who did vote to certify Biden's win.
