Watch: Arizona GOP leader incredulous after CNN confronts her over Trump-backed 'audit'

The woman behind the controversial Arizona election audit faced a series of questions when she was confronted by CNN reporter Kyung Lah.

On Tuesday, May 25, Arizona state Senate President Karen Fann (R) was confronted and questioned about the legitimacy of the state's audit in Maricopa, County. Lah asked Fann why she deemed it necessary to give life to the election conspiracy theories by conducting an audit.

Fann insisted that her actions were an attempt to answer questions looming about the election. According to the state lawmaker, those questions include: "Are you 100% confident that every vote that came in in Arizona or any other state, can you say emphatically 100% that no dead people voted, that ballots weren't filled out by other people, that the chain of custody from the minute people voted, their ballots, that the chain of custody was accurate and on target the entire time?"

She added, "Can you tell me that?

Lah responded saying, "I can tell you what the data shows us... that there was no widespread fraud." Fann quickly interjected and insisted she "didn't say there was fraud" although she alluded to the suggestion that there was given they are conducting an audit to investigate that possibility; a fact that Lah also pointed out.

Refusing to back down, Lah reiterated, "I can tell you that the data has shown, overwhelmingly, is that this was the most secure election in American history."
