'Pull them out!': New footage from the Capitol riot shows chilling enthusiasm for attacking police

While many Republican officials and supporters in the media have tried to downplay the violence of the Jan. 6 Capitol insurrection and suggest that vast majority of attendees came in peace, a newly released video shows the extreme enthusiasm from the crowd at large of the violent attack on the building.

On Thursday, July 15, NBC4-Washington investigative reporter Scott MacFarlane tweeted the video clip, explaining, "The video in this newly released Justice Dept court exhibit in US Capitol Insurrection case shows a perspective of the frontlines ... and the brutal assault on police But I can't get past the woman heard screaming 'Pull them out!'"

The latest clip has raised concerns because it offers clear insight into how Capitol rioters brutally assaulting law enforcement. Last year, former President Donald Trump repeatedly billed himself as a "law and order" president. It was a belief that his followers also claimed to support. However, the footage is a stark contradiction of their so-called belief system and suggests the notion only applies under certain circumstances —

One Twitter user wrote, "There is no just 'moving on' from this violent assault on the Cap Police at the USA Capital. Why were Capital Police not more prepared considering they had been warned from the FBI about the insurrection? Why did help not arrive for 4 hours? Why were panic buttons removed?"

Some Twitter users even pushed back against the previous argument that the rioters would be better described as "tourists."
