'Florida man': AOC mercilessly trolls Trump following his Manhattan indictment

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) did not mince words when she mocked former President Donald Trump’s arrest following his indictment from the Manhattan District Attorney's office.

During an appearance on “The Daily Show” on Monday, April 17, Ocasio-Cortez chatted with guest host Jordan Klepper.

“Ticket back to LaGuardia, baby,” she jokingly added.

The former president previously offered an embellished account of what transpired outside of the courtroom as he claimed his supporters had gathered with tears in their eyes. However, the New York lawmaker made it clear she had a different reaction.

At one point during the discussion, Klepper asked the lawmaker about how New Yorkers reacted to Trump’s arrest.

She suggested that very few expressed concern.

“I think they treated him like a Florida man,” she said. “He don’t belong to us no mo. He’s not from Queens anymore. He’s a citizen of Mar-a-Lago at this point."

Ocasio-Cortez and Klepper visited the Jacobi Medical Center in support of the Stand Up to Violence program to combat gun violence and police brutality. Speaking on the subject, Klepper jokingly said, “I can hear how Fox News would spin this: ‘AOC tries to defund the police and fund gang members.’”

“If I spent my time worried about what Fox News said, I wouldn’t be here,” Ocasio-Cortez responded.
