Watch: 'Daily Show' torches far-right Putin supporters with blasting drug parody ad

As Russian President Vladimir Putin continues to disrupt the lives of Ukrainians, many Republican lawmakers who previously praised the dictator are now backpedaling in wake of his Ukraine invasion.
However, "The Daily Show" is refusing to let them forget their history of applauding Putin for authoritarianism and dictatorship. On Tuesday, March 1, Trevor Noah featured a parody ad that featured a so-called drug Republicans seem to be addicted to: Tyranol.
According to HuffPost, the parody highlighted a fake drug spun from Tylenol as it slammed Tucker Carlson and Fox News, who have a history of being Putin cheerleaders. In addition to the conservative network's praise of Putin, "The Daily Show" didn't forget about former President Donald Trump and former U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.
The latest comes as Russia continues its assault on Ukraine. Big Tech companies and other international influences have begun to push back against Russian state media. On Tuesday, Facebook and Instagram's parent company Meta moved to demote Russian state media accounts. Nick Clegg, Meta's global affairs president, released a statement confirming the change.
"I can confirm we are demoting content from Facebook pages and Instagram accounts from Russian state-controlled media outlets, and we are making them harder to find across our platforms," Clegg said in a statement.
Per CNN: "The move to apply algorithmic restrictions to Russia-backed media outlets follows a similar move by Twitter announced on Monday. And it follows calls by European Union officials for tech platforms to do more to keep those outlets from being recommended to users."
Kremlin critic Alexei Navalny has also spoken out to emphasize how imperative it is to push back against Russia. He tweeted, "I cannot, will not and will not be silent, watching how the pseudo-historical nonsense about the events of 100 years ago became an excuse for Russians to kill Ukrainians, and those, defending themselves, to kill Russians."
