Tucker Carlson baselessly claims Biden is getting 'Black people to sell more weed in the cities'

Fox News' Tucker Carlson recently pushed a new, unfounded conspiracy theory as he criticized President Joe Biden's administration for introducing a new initiative that would open the door for Americans with sub-par credit scores to receive lower mortgage interest rates than those with better scores.

According to the conservative primetime host, the initiative is likely a way to open the door for Black people to have the flexibility to sell more weed in metropolitan cities.

The remarks came during Carlson's primetime segment on Friday, April 21.

At one point during the segment, Carlson spoke on systemic racism as he argued that no data lays out the disparities linked to racism surrounding home appraisals despite the existence of many different studies that explain and validate the issue.

Carlson then moved to a clip of Vice President Kamala Harris (D) discussing the same issue he denies exists.

“The home appraisal workforce is one of the least diverse in our nation,” she said in a speech last year. “Less than five percent of home appraisers in America are people of color. This lack of diversity can introduce both conscious and unconscious biases. That makes home appraisals less accurate and less fair. Our administration will now require those who conduct appraisals for federal programs must take part in anti-bias, fair housing, and fair lending training.”

Speaking in response to the clip, Carlson trolled Harris and offered his own take on the Biden administration's reason for its proposed initiative.

“If you wanted more Black home appraisers why wouldn’t you start a program to train them?” he said. “No. The only job training program this administration has gotten behind in two and a half years is getting Black people to sell more weed in the cities. Literally!” We’re legalizing weed and making sure the weed dispensaries have African American owners.”

He also doubled down on his claim about the lack of evidence to support Harris' arguments.

“That’s a slur against home appraisers, by the way,” Carlson said. “Why do they deserve this abuse? Well, they don’t. They’re not hurting anyone. They are accountant types!”
