'The charisma of wet blanket': Twitter dunks on Donald Trump Jr.'s future political potential

Donald Trump Junior sidestepped a question about whether he has any political aspirations during a Newsmax interview on Saturday, suggesting that continuing with his life in New York City would be his future's path of least resistance.

"Real quick. You're good at this stuff, whether you like it or not. Okay. The combat, every single day. You're Donald Trump Jr. Are you gonna run for office someday?" anchor Greg Kelly asked.

"Oh God. You know, I don't know. Uh, you gotta want the day job too. I mean, I believe in this stuff. I fight for it. Like I said, it'd be a lot easier to, you know, be in New York and shut up and build buildings and not be a conservative and not talk about it," Junior replied. "Even if I was, and, uh, you know, it's just not the way I am. I'm, you know, I'm out there. I, you know, I have my own podcast on Rumble talking about these issues, uh, all the time. Just, you know, I, we gotta fight for it. It, it, I have those five kids. I gotta make sure, uh, the country we are leaving our children right now is in serious trouble. And, uh, you know, perhaps the events of the last week have shown us that, you know, perhaps we've even crossed that Rubicon. Uh, hopefully people realize that. But we, we have to salvage her. It's not about changing direction. We have to pull her back off the brink. Uh, and that's not gonna be easy. That's gonna require everyone, Greg."

The feedback was less than cordial.
