Read the apology letters from Trump’s guilty co-defendants in Georgia

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis has already secured four guilty pleas from former President Donald Trump's 18 co-defendants in the ongoing RICO case concerning the alleged conspiracy to overturn the 2020 presidential election in Georgia. One of the conditions of those plea agreements was that the guilty write letters of apology to Georgia residents.

This week, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution obtained and published three of those letters via public records request from Trump lawyers Kenneth Chesebro and Sidney Powell, and from bail bondsman Scott Hall.

"To the Citizens of the State of Georgia, I owe you an apology," Hall's letter read. "I wish I had never involved myself in the post-election activities that brought me before the court. I have never before been in trouble with the law and I meant no harm to anyone. I did what I did on my own. I was not acting on behalf of any organization or any other person or persons."

"I became involved when I observed what I thought were some irregularities which I reported to law enforcement authorities. I was concerned. I went to State Farm Arena on election night, to the subsequent recounts as an observer and was ultimately invited to Coffee County. Although I certainly did not mean to violate any laws, I now realize that I did and have accepted responsibility for my actions," he added. "I offer my sincere apologies to the Citizens of the State of Georgia."

Chesebro and Powell's letters were decidedly more short. Powell's letter was just 13 words, and Chesebro's letter was less than two dozen words.

"I apologize for my actions in connection with the events in Coffee County," Powell wrote, adding the date of her plea agreement.

"I apologize to the citizens of the State of Georgia and of Fulton County for my involvement in Count 15 of the indictment," Chesebro wrote.
