Candace Owens gets mocked after Trump humiliates her with facts about the COVID vaccines

After revealing that he had received a COVID-19 booster shot during a Dallas appearance with far-right radio host Bill O’Reilly, former President Donald Trump doubled down on his pro-vaccination message during an interview with the Daily Wire’s Candace Owens — who has received a barrage of criticism for downplaying the value of vaccines.

Trump’s messaging during the event with O’Reilly and the interview with Owens was quite similar to what Sarah Huckabee Sanders, his former White House press secretary and a gubernatorial candidate in Arkansas, has been saying. Sanders has been describing the COVID-19 vaccines as “the Trump vaccine,” which is quite a contrast to all the anti-vaxxers in MAGA World. And Trump, similarly, wanted to take credit for the vaccines during his conversations with O’Reilly and Owens.

Trump voiced his opposition to vaccine mandates but told Owens, “The vaccine is one of the greatest achievements of mankind. We would have had a 1917 — remember, the Spanish flu killed perhaps 100 million people.”

When Owens implied that the vaccines weren’t having much of an effect because there were more COVID-19-related deaths in 2021 than in 2020, Trump responded, “The vaccine worked, but some people aren’t taking it. The ones that get very sick and go to the hospital are the ones that don’t take the vaccine. But it’s still their choice. And if you take the vaccine, you’re protected. The results of the vaccine are very good.”

GOP activist Meghan McCain, who has been one of Trump’s critics on the right, applauded him for promoting vaccination and pushing back against Owens' efforts to downplay the vaccines’ success:
