MSNBC airs bombshell recordings of Rudy Giuliani admitting Trump campaign can’t prove voter fraud

MSNBC’s Alex Wagner recently aired bombshell recordings that featured Rudy Giuliani and a former campaign official for then-President Donald Trump admitting to Fox News that they lacked substantial evidence to support all of their claims of widespread voter fraud.

According to Mediaite, the damning recordings were presented to a judge as part of Dominion Voting Systems’ $1.6 billion defamation lawsuit against the conservative news network.

Per the news outlet: "The recordings were provided by former Fox News producer Abby Grossberg, who has filed two lawsuits of her own against her ex-employer. She alleges the network allowed a culture of sexual harassment and misogyny."

During Wednesday night's segment of "Alex Wagner Tonight," the MSNBC host highlighted some of the clips. The first clip, which was recorded on November 8, 2020, featured a conversation between Giuliani and Fox News' Maria Bartiromo.

"I’m going to be asking you for as much evidence as you can tell us about these lawsuits," Bartiromo said. "Whatever you can tell us in terms of evidence would be really helpful. Ok, great."

Guiliani replied, "I can tell you exactly what we have."

"Perfect," Bartiromo said, adding, "And what about the software, this dominion software."

"That’s a little harder," Giuliani admitted to which, Bartiromo said, "Seems troubling."

Guiliani continued saying, "To tell you right – it’s being analyzed right now. I mean, there are a couple of races that have been reversed because the Democrat was triple-counted, two already in Michigan. Now, whether that applies for the whole state or not, I can’t tell you yet."

Bartiromo asked, "This Dominion software, does Nancy Pelosi have an interest in it?"

Guiliani admitted, "I’ve read that. I can’t prove that."

In wake of the latest recordings released, Fox News has released a statement addressing the issue.

“As our lawyer explained in court today, we learned that there might be responsive audio recordings for the first time on March 20 from Grossberg’s errata sheet,” Fox News said in its statement to Mediaite. “Our attorneys then accessed the forensic image of Grossberg’s phone and reviewed the recordings, which were produced within 15 days of first learning of their existence.”

However, some legal experts are convinced that Dominion Voting Systems has a substantial case. CNN chief legal analyst Elie Honig weighed in with his perspective.

“I would not want to be in the position of defending Fox here,” said Honig. “I think they’re headed for a full-blown journalistic and legal disaster."
