'It's terrible': Zelenskyy’s chief of staff torches Russian state media for distorted propaganda

The chief of staff for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy issued a stinging rebuke of Russian state media amid the ongoing invasion of Ukraine.

On Friday, March 25, Ukrainian chief of staff Andriy Yermak expressed his frustration during a conversation with former U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine John Herbst. During a segment that aired on C-SPAN, Yermak condemned Russian state media as it continues to circulate misleading propaganda that dismisses all that has transpired in Ukraine over the last several weeks.

“It’s terrible,” Yermak said of the propaganda. “It’s terrible, it is impossible to listen how the journalists in the Russian television, 24 hours, issue absolutely bullshit. Absolutely fakes. It’s not just part of the fakes. It’s 100% of the fakes. It’s impossible to listen.”

Yermak's remarks come as new reports suggest the Russian military may be scaling back its operations amid speculation that more than 15,000 of its soldiers have reportedly been killed. As a result of the Russian invasion, an estimated 6.7 million Ukrainians have been displaced and more than 3.5 million have already fled the country.
